Information Technology Program - Health

 

This service provides technical and advisory health IT support to the health program and partner sites in the areas of primary health care; program design and evaluation; research activities and methodology; computer technology and information management.

As the Giiwednong Health Link (GHL) project continues to evolve (visit Giiwednong Health Link) the first step was to implement a reliable and secure wide area network. With thanks to the Kuhkenah Network (K-Net) and Health Canada the computer network is currently available through-out all of the North Shore First Nation Community Health Centers.

Recent testing of the network found it capable of video conferencing between all of the health centers as well as outside locations which will reduce travel for meetings and improve communication between interested parties.
